Social Justice Summer School is a free, children’s summer educational day-program that weaves together peoples’ histories to help children build a ground-up understanding of the world through reading, writing, art-making, and play. Each day will include facilitated workshops on subjects including anti-colonial histories, environmental justice, and social change, alongside supervised, outdoor activities and a shared meal at lunch.

The summer school is led by a skilled team volunteering their time and skills for the program. We are elementary teachers, graduate students from Concordia University, McGill and UQAM and professionals in art education with advanced training in first aid, childcare, and community organizing. We are passionate about creating a positive and enriching environment and cannot wait to meet you and your children!

This is an opportunity for children to explore their neighbourhoods, city, and environment through the lenses of people who shaped it. All together, we will be reimagining school as a place of community collaboration, shared learning, and joy. We hope that Social Justice Summer School can begin to plant the seeds of sovereignty, community building, and self-determination for the children participating and their communities.
