Social Justice Summer School 2026

Monday July 20th– Friday July 24th at Brique par Brique from 8:30am-3:30pm (childcare until 4:30pm offered on request)

For children ages 6-12, free of cost. Free vegetarian lunch provided. Program is in English but many volunteers speak French.

Social Justice Summer School is a free, teacher-led day program focused on learning and community building for social justice through reading, writing, art-making, and play. Join us in Parc Extension at Brique par Brique this summer, July 20th-24th, for a week of programming led by licensed teachers, community organizers and university graduate students.

In this full-day program (8:30am-3:30pm), children will:

Strengthen key literacy skills while reading diverse stories from Black, Indigenous, immigrant, and migrant communities.
Make creative art projects including working with painting, drawing, and theatre.
Participate in exciting outdoor activities to engage our whole selves in learning.
Share healthy, homemade meals and practice simple food preparation and serving tasks .
Learn collectively about where we are in the neighbourhood of Park Ex and the city of Montreal.
Imagine, share stories and ideas, play, move, and relax.
